There’s truly nothing more beautiful than making someone else feel beautiful. Which is why it is my mission to help bring the simple pleasure of having beautiful nails to others who may just need a smile and/or boost of confidence in their day.

The true inspiration behind the BeautTUFFul Company and Tuff as Nails is my niece Quinn. She was diagnosed with Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma (JPA), a rare childhood brain tumor, at the age of 4. After 14 hours of surgery, they were able to remove the majority of it. This discovery was found suddenly and as you can imagine completely rocked our whole world.

My sister, Jen, would paint Quinn’s nails while she was in the hospital because that’s the activity she often chose, out of all the activities that were available to her. The instant smile it brought to Quinn’s face confirmed that in a time of such uncertainty and darkness having something as simple as a beautiful color on your nails can truly brighten your day.

This experience quickly put life into perspective and made me want to do something to help other women and little girls like Quinn be reminded that they are Tuff As Nails and worth fighting for. To be able to bring smiles to others, in a time in their lives when smiling doesn’t come easy, makes my heart so full.

Four years later, Quinn tumor remains unchanged and we thank god everyday for that. To be able to see Quinn’s beautiful smile as she’s wearing her freshly manicured "Tuff As” nails is our forever blessing. With tears in my eyes and joy to my heart, I know God has lead me here.
